You need to eat carbs for weight loss. Hi, I'm Ilyse Schapiro, registered dietician with offices in Westchester, NY and Greenwich, CT. I eat carbs. I love them. I eat them every single day. And here's why you should too.
Carbs help with energy. I recommend to my clients eating carbs first thing in the morning as part of their breakfast, because that's going to get their metabolism going. If you're someone who works out in the morning, that's going to help fuel your workout. So you have better, more efficient workouts and you're not hungry. While you're working out and thinking about food the whole time.
Carbs are rich in fiber, especially the better carbs like the whole grains, which is what you should be eating regardless. We have learned that fiber fills you up and that helps to prevent overeating later on and helps with weight loss.
We need the carbs for energy. We need them for the fiber which in turn helps with weight loss. So don't fear carbs always choose the whole grains: brown rice, fruits, veggies, quinoa, amaranth, faro, you name it. Eat your carbs.
