Daily fiber for weight loss
Eating 25 grams of fiber per day is going to help you lose weight. I am Ilyse Schapiro, registered dietician with offices in Westchester, NY and Greenwich, CT, and let's get after it. Fiber is going to keep you full and satisfied and help prevent overeating later on. It is a great weight loss tool. So here's how you're going to do it. If you like oatmeal, have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning, add chia seeds, flax seeds.
Raspberries or blueberries, that's going to start your day off right. If you have time for a mid morning snack, grab an apple that is filled with fiber. If you're someone who has a salad for lunch, make sure there's a protein in it, lots of veggies, and then include a half a cup of beans or lentils, that's going to up your fiber intake for sure.
In the afternoon, you can always do another fruit as a snack, you can do a handful of nuts, you can do edamame or dry roasted edamame, or even roasted chickpeas. Those have a good amount of fiber in them. Make sure dinner is protein. Half your plate is veggies. And again, if you want a half a cup of brown rice or quinoa or small potato, you're going to hit your fiber goals.
No problem.
